A note on timestamps
The timestamps you see on each page aren’t particularly meaningful, because they’re generated automatically by the server and will therefore be updated by every little minor change I make to the code for the corresponding page. It’s possible that I could make an edit that is visible only to me, and the timestamp will update even though, from your perspective, I didn’t change anything. It’s also possible for me to change images and such, altering the appearance of a page, without changing the timestamp (which only applies to text and sometimes code). In short, the timestamps on the site do not always accurately reflect a significant revision to the page. But they’re provided anyway because they still provide some sort of indication; if a timestamp says I haven’t touched a page in two years, I probably haven’t. But, on the other hand, if your favorite page had its timestamp updated, it doesn’t necessarily mean anything interesting happened.
Timestamps won’t appear on pages where they’re pretty meaningless or they can be too misleading.
